Why Should I Join the SLIA?

Where Do My Dues Go?

The SLIA (Silver Lake Improvement Association) along with much support from the Silver Lake Community work year around to preserve and protect our lake environment.  Below are some of the ways that we work to accomplish our goals.

  • Manage the Eurasian Water Milfoil and other invasive species.
  • Monitor water quality.
  • Work with the Drain Commissioner on the water level, drain, and DNR fisheries.
  • Work with both Blair and Garfield Townships to keep voters and residents informed of actions or proposals that may impact the lake and its residents.
  • Inform boaters of boater safety rules, and we do our best to protect the wildlife.
  • Build Community through Social activities such as the Kids Fishing Tournament,
  • Giant Beach Ball and Fourth of July Regatta.
  • Communicate with and Educate property owners and friends of the lake through Newsletters.
  • Maintain a website that features a current calendar of events and is a great source of information about Silver Lake in general.
  • Email members to inform of important issues affecting the lake, such as invasive species treatment dates, safety issues and much more.  This program also provides a valuable service to the community with notices of "Lost and Found items."

For the small cost of $30 a year, you can help preserve our lake for generations to come!
