PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

Your SLIA is committed to supporting the Silver Lake Community through a variety of programs and activities for all our residents.

ADOPT-A-ROAD

The Adopt-A-Road program was initially started in memorial by “The Friends and Family of Gordy Sigren”, a longtime friend and supporter of Silver Lake.  Our adopted road is East Silver Lake Rd from US-31 to West Silver Lake Rd.  This past year we also  recognized Don Pahl and Nancy Knight by dedicating a sign in each of their names.
Don Pahl is a Silver Lake resident that has over many years, faithfully cleaned up East Silver Lake Rd on his daily walks.  Recent health issues have kept him from continuing this mission, however, he is still with us in spirit and support! Nancy Knight was a resident of Silver Lake and on the SLIA Board for 50+ years!  Nancy passed away in March of 2024 and will be missed by her family and the many friends of our Silver Lake Community!

Adopt-A-Road Cleanups take place 3 times per year Spring (April), Summer (July), and Fall (September).   Members will be notified via email and dates and times will be posted on this website.  All volunteers are welcome and appreciated!

Annual Nancy Knight Kids Fishing Tournament

Each year Board member, Tom Thompson, hosts the Annual Nancy Knight Fishing Tournament.  This family friendly event invites children of all ages to join in the fun!  The event typically coincides with the FREE Fishing Weekend during which licenses are Not required.  The event offers awards in divisions for children 12 and under and 13 and above!  The event runs from 9am - 12pm and culminates in a fun community cookout.  Entry forms will be emailed prior to the event and applications will also be made available on this site.  Questions? Contact Tom Thompson at 231-944-2953.   Fishing Tourney Flyer

The Great Big Silver Lake Beach Ball

We know that the Silver Lake beachball is one of the most popular and looked forward to attractions on the lake.  The good news is…the Great Big Beach Ball is on its way!  Be on the lookout for its placement a week prior to July 4th.  The beachball will be routinely anchored at various locations around the lake for all to enjoy.  Please take the opportunity to sign it, leave comments, take selfies and enjoy!  Remember, this ball belongs to the whole lake community so treat it with respect (no advertising or political messaging please).   If you see that the ball needs attention, please contact us.

4th of July Boat Regatta

Each year residents, friends, and families of the Silver Lake Community come together to celebrate Independance Day with our Annual Silver Lake Boat Regatta!  All are invited to decorate their boats and join the parade of creative and patriotic water vessels that entertain shoreline spectators and represent the spirit of our Silver Lake Community!

Registered boats will be judged by onshore juding teams positioned around the lake shoreline.  Winning boats will be recognized with a certificate and honored at our Annual Meeting in August.  Whether you participate on boat or on the shore, it's guaranteed to be a fun community activity!  Registration forms will be emailed to members and also available on this site.  If it's the 4th of July on Silver Lake...We Gotta Regatta!  Regatta Registration Form
